A new pair of entry-level, automatic coordinate measuring machines have boosted the popular SmartScope ZIP range available from OGP UK.
The OGP SmartScope ZIP Lite 250 and 300 models include a high-resolution digital colour camera and advanced motorised optics comprising OGP’s patented AccuCentric auto-calibrating 5:1 zoom lens for keeping images in focus and on-axis throughout the magnification range.
The bench top systems also provide square-on total illumination thanks to OGP’s patented and powerful LED SmartRing white lights, which pinpoint light from an infinite number of directions to exactly locate detail and maximise contrast on almost any shaped component. Green LED profile and coaxial surface lights are also included for greater illumination flexibility.
Both machines are supplied with OGP’s easy-to-use MeasureMind 3D multi-sensor metrology software, which is designed to measure any part from simple geometric shapes to complex free-form structures.
Other machine features include a granite base and column construction for stable measurement conditions, an operator-friendly, 3-button joystick and high-precision micro -stepper motors on the XY motion control functions.
Both systems are designed so they don’t require the addition of either an external processor or lens ID facility. The total measuring area of the 250 and 300 versions is 250 x 150 x 150mm and 300 x 300 x 150mm respectively. The 250 can also be extended with the addition of a 300mm X axis.
Other accessories such as a touch probe and laser probe for measuring parts with hard-to- find features, together with a number of lens attachments for more magnification options, are available from OGP.
