Quality Inspection at a Snap

OGP has launched a new desktop measuring machine, the SNAP. Designed to enable fast, quick and accurate non-contact inspection, the SNAP provides the ultimate in convenience for digital measurement.

The OGP SNAP measures using a digital megapixel camera. Coupled with native video image processing, images at up to 50:1 sub-pixel resolution can be produced instantly. Any portion of the image can be selected and zoomed in on so that even the smallest details can be measured without even moving the part.

OGP SNAPSNAP’s real beauty, though, comes through the link with OGP’s Measure-X 2D metrology software. Parts can be dropped onto the stage in any orientation and measured. Measure-X’s AutoCorrelate function will recognise the part and measure it without any operator assistance.

As a result, measuring any component is as simple as walking up to the machine, placing the part on the stage and hitting go.

SNAP’s capabilities are impressive for such a small and versatile machine. Its advanced telecentric optics provide a 78mm field of view and allow parts to be kept in focus.

There are several options for finding the perfect lighting combination from SNAP’s substage profile light, coaxial surface light and programmable 8-sector multicolour ring light.

Parts of up to 100mm tall can be measured, with vertical stage adjustments being made through 75mm.

OGP has a long history of innovation in metrology. SNAP represents how that innovation can be utilised to develop the quickest, easiest measuring machine around. SNAP is certain to be a hit for anyone who needs a simple but highly-capable manual measuring machine.
