OGP Measurement Probes
OGP produces a range of probes ideal for every application.
Rainbow Probe
The Rainbow Probe adds a unique non-contact micro-sensing capability. A Rainbow Probe excels at high resolution surface measurement of precision parts that cannot be touched and may be difficult to image. Its miniature probe allows measurement of deep, narrow features.
Rainbow Probe is an electro-optical device that measures surfaces without contact by analysing changes in the optical spectrum as a function of part-to-probe spacing as it scans.
The Probe’s small spot size enables Rainbow Probe to access small features, and it’s on-axis measuring technique allows it to measure recessed features that may not accessible by other means.
Since the Rainbow Probe measures without contact, it can measure fragile, liquid or easily deformable surfaces.
Feather Probe
Feather Probe™ from OGP® provides access to small features that are inaccessible to video measurement or conventional touch probes, or too sensitive to withstand traditional probing forces.
The Feather Probe is a miniature stylus that only requires a milligram of force. The tiny stylus allows access to extremely small features. The feather-light probing force allows measurement of fragile and easily-deformed parts including liquids and gels.
Using a 1 mm or less diameter stylus, the Feather Probe is able to access truly minute features. Based on a technology with extreme sensitivity, Feather Probe can measure fragile, deformable surfaces such as solder bumps and coatings with a miniscule measurement force of less than one milligram.
Feather Probe measurements can be easily incorporated into SmartScope® system measurement routines.
Touch Probe
Touch probes add tactile measurement capability. Sometimes important features are inaccessible to optics and lasers. Touch probes can reach into such features to provide data points that add to the total characterization of the part.
Touch probe measurements can be part of any Measure-X® or MeasureMind® 3D multi-sensor measurement routine. A unique probe-to-optics offset calibration ensures that all sensors are referenced to the same coordinate system so measurements can use points from any probe.
Measurement accuracy is assured with a reference sphere and calibration software included with each touch probe accessory package.
Scan probe
Scanning probes acquire points along the entire profile between the start and end points, automatically. Intelligent algorithms “sense” each point in the profile, greatly speeding the process.
Using intelligent algorithms, MeasureMind® 3D multi-probe metrology software drives the probe, rapidly following the part contour and collecting data points at a user defined velocity and data sampling rate.
The scanning probe automatically adjusts point density when the probe is rounding curves. Both programming and measurement times are greatly reduced compared to single point probing.
